Chromatic Discrimination Towards the Confusion Points

چکیده

Abstract In this paper chromatic discrimination thresholds of normal colour-observers are analysed. Measurements were obtained with the Cambridge Colour Test, in different reference points. The results show differences terms chromaticities. Reference points within gamut a CRT display found where colour observers measured towards confusion exceeded normative upper threshold limit observers. estimated lines based on Trivector measurements by Ellipse tests. Our indicate that case determination ellipses, recommended.

The discrimination of chromatic textures.

Color discrimination is influenced by chromatic distributions such as they appear on differently illuminated 3D surfaces (T. Hansen, M. Giesel, & K. R. Gegenfurtner, 2008). Here, we measured discrimination thresholds for chromatically variegated stimuli and modeled the data employing a model with multiple chromatic mechanisms. Each mechanism has a differently tuned half-wave-rectified cosine-sh...

Chromatic discrimination of natural objects.

Studies of chromatic discrimination are typically based on homogeneously colored patches. Surfaces of natural objects, however, cannot be characterized by a single color. Instead, they have a chromatic texture, that is, a distribution of different chromaticities. Here we study chromatic discrimination for natural images and synthetic stimuli with a distribution of different chromaticities under...

Symmetries and asymmetries in chromatic discrimination.

Under conditions of adaptation to a steady neutral field (metameric to Daylight Illuminant D65), forced-choice thresholds for color discrimination were measured for brief targets presented to the human fovea. Measurements were made along +45° and -45° lines in a MacLeod-Boynton chromaticity space scaled so that the locus of unique yellow and unique blue lay at -45°. The lines were symmetrical r...

Chromatic Discrimination in Relation to Luminance Level

We have measured the chromatic-discrimination ellipses with different luminances for 66 stimuli distributed throughout the CIE-1931 chromatic diagram. The distribution of these stimuli enabled us to analyze the influence of luminance on discrimination from clearly photopic levels to levels that could enter the mesopic range. The results show a clear influence of the luminance level on the areas...
